KWEEN is the controller for personal data collected through its website, its own promotions and KWEEN-operated Meta lead forms. Independent retailers and social platforms may be separate controllers for their own activities. This notice is primarily for UK readers.

Depending on your interaction with us: name, email address, competition entry time, eligibility details, contact preferences, newsletter subscription and unsubscribe history, communications, winner verification and delivery information; technical information such as IP address, device/browser identifiers, pages visited and interaction data from analytics, cookies and advertising pixels. We do not intentionally request sensitive personal data for routine competition entry.

We process competition entries, check eligibility, conduct a random draw, notify the winner and deliver prizes where necessary to administer the promotion (normally contractual necessity, or legitimate interests where appropriate). We use security and fraud-prevention data for legitimate interests. We handle enquiries on legitimate interests or to respond to a request. We comply with legal duties where required by law.

We use Klaviyo to manage contacts and send KWEEN editorial newsletters, offers and promotions. Direct marketing to individual subscribers requires consent or another applicable PECR permission; where we rely on consent, the UK GDPR lawful basis is consent. The current competition forms say that entering subscribes entrants automatically. This notice describes that practice but does not mean compulsory marketing consent is necessarily valid. You may unsubscribe at any time; KWEEN must be able to demonstrate a valid legal basis before sending marketing.

We use Google Analytics and advertising measurement/remarketing technologies where legally permitted, generally relying on consent for non-exempt device storage/access and associated personal-data processing. Some limited exempt analytics uses may be permitted under UK rules subject to their conditions. We may use aggregate statistics to improve editorial content and site performance. We do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about readers.

Information comes directly from KWEEN website forms, competition and newsletter forms on Facebook or Instagram operated through Meta, communications you send us, and devices or browsers when you use the Website. Meta separately processes information under its own policies. Meta form submissions may be imported into Klaviyo, where competition-only records and marketing records should be distinguished.

We may disclose necessary data to Klaviyo (email platform), Meta (lead-form platform), website and hosting suppliers, Google (analytics and advertising), advertising technology providers, security and professional advisers, and prize suppliers or fulfilment providers. Independent competition organisers collect data under their own notices when you enter their promotions. We may share information where legally required or in a corporate transaction subject to safeguards.

Service providers may handle data outside the UK, including in the United States. For restricted transfers we use an applicable UK adequacy arrangement, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or appropriate UK-approved contractual safeguards and assessments as required. We retain unsuccessful KWEEN competition entries for three months after the draw closes, unless a dispute, complaint, fraud concern or legal duty justifies longer retention. Winner and prize fulfilment records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary to document award and address legal or tax requirements. Newsletter contact data is held while you remain subscribed; after unsubscribe we retain limited suppression and consent records as needed to respect your choice and evidence compliance. Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing, and object to direct marketing at any time. Contact hello@kween.co.uk. We use essential technologies and, where permitted by consent or a specific exemption, analytics and advertising technologies. Non-exempt tracking should not operate before appropriate consent, and users must be able to reject and later withdraw it.

KWEEN is a fashion and lifestyle publication not intended to collect children’s personal information through its prize draw; KWEEN-run competitions are restricted to adults aged 18 or over. We use proportionate organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal information, though no online system is risk-free.
